If you are remotely paying attention to politics, healthcare craziness, generated problems and false narratives (consider the Hegelian dialectic), the whoredom of media, and particularly related to this post, the tragic tearing down of biblical local churches in our country, it is clear that THE STORM is upon us.

Several years ago I read Leonard Ravenhill’s book, Revival God’s Way, and I posted this a few years ago (plus republished in a few writings). On page 145 he quoted the May 1982 copy of Christ for the Nations when they had quoted just a few statistics from Jeffrey K. Hadden’s book, The Gathering Storm in the Churches: The Widening Gap Between Clergy and Laymen. I was able to track down an original copy of this book from 1969.

In the mid to late 1960’s Hadden began the task of surveying nearly 10,000 clergymen throughout the nation. He has 72 tables demonstrating various results of his study. Topics included the politics of the day such as Goldwater, Nixon, and racial equality, including much related to the church, beliefs, and authentically living out the faith.

I have selected a few of these staggering statistics below. I decided to photo these to show the actual numbers and so that you would not think I have ‘fudged’ the data.

Before reading the below statistics, consider this fact: “The August 1982 issue of Pulpit Helps contains this statement: ‘In a recent survey of one of the large, well-known theological colleges of the United States, 93% of the students studying for the ministry stated: “I have no devotional life.”’ What a crop of future preachers! How can a man speak for God if he does not walk with God?” (Leonard Ravenhill – Revival God’s Way, pg. 148, Bethany House Publishers, a division of Baker Publishing Group, 1983, used by permission. This can also be found in page 29 of Realities of a True Christian)

Reading the previous, and the statistics below, I cannot help but wonder, how many people are unconverted in the American ‘church’? I really wonder how many Wiccan, Masons, or others, are currently working secretly (or even openly) in our local church bodies. We know there are people who do this very thing. Regardless, “many” will be told by Jesus, “be away from Me, I never knew you.”

After reading these you cannot help be see why what is called the ‘church’ today is in such disarray. Be sure to send this to your friends, family, church leaders and pastors. We must not cower in the corner any longer. I believe, and without doubt, Hadden’s title, The Gathering Storm in the Churches, has come to full birth.

I fully believe we are only at the beginning of our needing to hear the clear clarion call – “HERE IS A CALL FOR THE PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS.” – for the days that lies ahead, unless their be a merciful working of God like a Josiah type of reprieve or move of God’s power like Joshua marching upon Jericho, will be filled with utter destruction and full on Satanic following. And being a father, I cannot just stand by and let evil reign. I must do what I can in God’s providence and support those going down into the well in the rescuing of souls and fighting back the evil demons of this world. Even the most humble of those among us have Weapons of warfare – shall we use them?

*Lord willing, I will be including a podcast to this post in the coming near future.
